Before using salts, you must first find out whether or not your skin is irritated easily when you apply soap to it, especially if it’s scented. Some people may be able to use bath salts that are not scented while others won’t be able to use salts at all. It all depends on your skin.
So lets sum it up. Why use bath salts? Because by adding mineral rich salt to your bath water increases the salinity of the water, which decreases the bacteria count on your skin giving your body’s immune system a break from the daily war against invading microscopic intruders. The water feels softer against the skin and aids in the shedding of damaged and dead skin while at the same time providing therapeutic nutrients that your skin needs to sustain newly forming healthy skin. Remember it also improves the way you feel, reduces tension, and relaxes the muscles to help you feel nice and refreshed, and lets not forget that it heals the skin as well.

You can find bath salts in various body and health shops, but you can also try to make your own bath salt. The needed ingredients are sea salt, Epsom salt, a few drops of colorant and a few drops of fragrance oil. Purchased bath salt may contain other additives such as moisturizer which helps skin to stay healthy and smoothing.
